All About Apophysis by BurnoutPriest All About Apophysis by BurnoutPriest
Very large tutorial. This explains a lot of what beginners will want to know about Apophysis. You'll learn all about gradients, coloring techniques, some post-work, the editor window and variations, scripts, mutations, savings fractals, rendering fractals, and important Apophysis settings. Quite a lot of reading though ^^;

I'm not used to Apo7x, but I just downloaded it and the blur still shows up for me. Have you tried removing all triangles/variations but the blur one? I'm unsure what else could be going wrong. Here's what mine looks like after adding blur on the first triangle and julian on the second: [link]

Btw, thanks for helping me find out about Apo7x :D

I learned quite a bit from this tutorial, so thank you. When you discuss duplicating layers etc, I assume you mean in Photoshop or equivalent correct? Also, I have noticed people saying their renders take several hours...mine only take at most 30 minutes. Am I doing something wrong or getting substandard outputs? Not being able to do more then two renders a day seems slightly odd to me.

I did have some sort of editing software such as Photoshop in mind when I mentioned duplicating layers.

As for your rendering speed, there are a lot of things to take into account. The most obvious being if you have a high end computer then you're rendering speed will be much faster. Other things that affect fractals are your oversample, quality, size, and filter radius. I can take a look at your render settings too if you want.

I will copy them down when I do my next fractal so you can see what Im doing. The more I use this program, the more questions I seem to develop. TY for your help.

My Apophysis doesn't have a tool bar at the top or a little graph when I try to actually make one. Do I have the wrong one? If I do does anyone know where I can get the right one?
